RHODES Editions presented Nick Smith’s Paradise at stand S13 of the London Original Print Fair at Somerset House, where the public fair ran from 14–17 May 2026. Smith’s announcement gives the print’s in-person release as 11am on the first public day. The fair’s private view took place on 13 May, one day before Paradise’s announced public release through RHODES Editions. Artist’s announcement; Fair programme.

A publisher’s selection

RHODES Editions’ booth positioned Paradise within a broader printmaking programme. The publisher was established in 2020 to make limited editions accompanying exhibitions at its sister gallery, before expanding into independent collaborations. Its fair catalogue illustrates that range through different forms of print production, rather than one uniform edition format. Morag Caister’s In Cello Mist 1 is described as a monotype on handmade Japanese paper; Ludi Leiva’s Late August is a monoprint on handmade Japanese paper. Cat Spilman’s Chonk combines a two-colour screenprint with crayon hand-finishing. Official RHODES Editions fair catalogue.

Against those individually worked surfaces, Paradise brings Smith’s colour-chip image and narrative into a giclée print with a screenprinted varnish overlay. The publisher specifies a numbered edition of forty-four on Canson Rag Photographique paper, signed, numbered and dated by Smith, with artist and publisher blindstamps. Its square format and layered print process offer a distinct way of encountering the pool imagery, separate from the original collages later assembled for his London exhibition. The materials and edition statement are useful identification points when comparing an example with the catalogue. Paradise specifications.

Fair access and the later exhibition

Smith announced first-come, first-served purchasing at the fair, with rolled copies available to take away. An unspecified portion of the same edition was reserved for an online release on 16 May at midday. Both sales channels offered impressions from the same numbered edition, allowing collectors unable to attend the fair to buy through the publisher’s website. Artist’s release arrangements.

The July Pool Diaries exhibition at RHODES was a later chapter in the project. Its gallery account traces the series’ introduction to Untitled Art in Miami Beach in 2025, before the developed London presentation. Paradise’s May appearance therefore sits between those two exhibitions. That sequence matters when looking at the project as a whole: Paradise’s numbered print reached collectors during the spring fair, before the larger body of original works brought the pool series into RHODES’s summer exhibition.
