Preorder: October 6, 2026 at 13:00 ET — Topps US (US). Official release page.

Hobby contains twenty twelve-card packs and one autograph OR relic. Victory parallels and Player Number Variations are exclusive to this format. Hobby Jumbo instead contains ten 28-card packs, one autograph AND one relic, and its own Sandglitter parallels.

The final manufacturer checklist and format-specific odds are not linked in the current release material.

Topps also announces Value, Mega, Fanatics Value, Hanger and Fat Pack formats. See the Topps family index for the seven-format breakdown; the Hobby preorder does not establish every retail format’s release date.

Collector context

The standard Hobby Box in 2026-27 Topps Flagship Basketball has its own collecting route, rather than being a smaller copy of Hobby Jumbo. Topps assigns Victory parallels and Player Number Variations to standard Hobby, while Jumbo gets the Sandglitter family. Collectors following a particular parallel therefore need the format name as well as the set year.

The distinction also changes the stated hit allocation: Hobby includes one autograph or relic, whereas Jumbo includes one of each. Both share the Hobby insert group. That makes the choice more specific than simply counting cards per box.

Across the wider set, the new Clear Variations introduce acetate, while the 1981-82 design supplies a retro counterpoint. Poster Factory takes another direction, giving the insert programme a dunk-focused theme.

Standard Hobby is a distinct route, not merely fewer cards

The stated 240-card Hobby count and 280-card Jumbo count are useful opening quantities, but the format exclusives are the more important distinction for a parallel collector. Victory and Player Number Variations point to standard Hobby; Sandglitter points to Jumbo. A preference for one of those treatments can outweigh the simple difference in card volume.

The signature language also changes the floor of the offer. Hobby provides an autograph or a relic, while Jumbo promises one of each. A relic-only outcome can therefore satisfy the standard Hobby description. The common insert group does not erase that difference or add another guaranteed hit.

Across the wider release, acetate Clear Variations and the 1981-82 design reference introduce different reasons to collect beyond the base set. Their exact subjects and format availability need the final checklist and odds. Topps’ seven-format programme should be approached as a map of different products, with retail exclusives and configurations kept separate from this Hobby preorder.
