Topps specifies three Chrome autographs in a seven-card Hobby box. The five Midnight Autograph tiers and Lunar Tide content give the release several signature and parallel routes; individual chase designs are not separately guaranteed. Release and shipping dates are distinct from the October 12 preorder opening.

Collector context

Topps Midnight Football puts a substantial share of its seven-card Hobby pack into signatures: the manufacturer specifies three Chrome autographs. That makes its opening structure fundamentally different from a long run of base-heavy packs. The format is built around a small number of cards and several signed outcomes, not a high card count.

The 2026 release develops that approach with Midnight Oil Marks, Moonlit Materials Signatures and Dark Matter Autographs joining football’s lineup. Their visual themes fit the wider night-sky treatment rather than introducing an unrelated design language. The illustrated Jeremiyah Love REM Relic Autograph shows how player photography, two relic windows and a signature are arranged within that celestial treatment.

The relic-autograph designs also use different layouts. Topps describes REM Relic Autographs as horizontal cards with two swatch windows, while Moonlit Materials Signatures places a large moon motif around the memorabilia. Those differences offer more useful identification cues than treating every signed relic as interchangeable.

Signatures dominate a small opening

Three Chrome autographs in a seven-card box make Midnight’s collecting proposition different from a flagship product where most of the opening is base material. The small total concentrates attention on the identity and design of the signed cards. It does not mean the three signatures must come from different players or different autograph families unless the final terms specify that.

REM and Moonlit Materials also show why signed memorabilia should be catalogued by exact insert name. The number and placement of swatch windows form part of the design, while a signature and relic can appear together on one card. Counting those features as separate additional cards would overstate the box contents.

The five Midnight Autograph tiers and Lunar Tide material give a player collector several parallel or signature paths. The manufacturer checklist is the place to determine which subjects appear on each path; promotional art highlights possibilities. Preorder access and eventual shipping remain separate decisions, so the October opening should be used to track the offer rather than to assume when a completed box will arrive.
