Nightfall: the Galápagos edition of 100 within The Jaunt trio

Nightfall and Twilight each number 100; Dawn numbers fifty. The shared Galápagos project also develops themes different from Peterson’s earlier Athens print.

Nightfall is the signed and numbered edition of 100 from Cleon Peterson’s Jaunt #100 project in the Galápagos Islands. The publisher describes a silkscreen measuring approximately 50 × 70 centimetres, lists €150 and marks it sold out as of 6 October 2026. The project’s 24 September to 1 October 2023 dates describe the journey; an exact print-sale window is not supplied. Nightfall.

Three titles from one journey

The project also produced Twilight, another edition of 100, and Dawn, an edition of fifty. All three publisher pages give the same approximate dimensions and €150 price, and all were marked sold out. Those are three named, separately numbered editions. A seller’s description of a “Jaunt 100 print” would leave the actual title unresolved, while a denominator of fifty would point to Dawn rather than Nightfall. Dawn; Twilight.

Peterson’s accompanying statement questions the idea of remote nature as an innocent world untouched by humanity. He links day and night, creation and destruction, and other apparent opposites before describing people as part of nature. Read alongside that statement, the three time-of-day titles offer a way into the project’s connected themes. That is an interpretation of the titles and attributed context, rather than a claim that the prints depict particular Galápagos species or sites.

A return to The Jaunt, with different stated concerns

The earlier Jaunt #012 record followed Peterson’s February 2015 trip to Athens. It lists a two-colour silkscreen of approximately 50 × 70 centimetres, signed and numbered in an edition of fifty. Peterson described that image as a diagram of social power, drawing on an earlier American political poster. The Galápagos statement instead examines humanity’s relationship to nature. The shared publisher and sheet format link the projects, but their different edition counts and stated image contexts distinguish the works within Peterson’s longer relationship with The Jaunt. Athens project.

The 2026 Shame black print, presented through Underdogs and The Jaunt, supplies a further material distinction. Its source names white 300gsm Multidesign Rough 1.5 paper and fifty regular examples plus ten APs. Nightfall’s page gives neither a named stock nor an AP allocation. The approximately matching face dimensions therefore cannot justify importing Shame’s paper specification or proof structure into a Nightfall description. Shame black.

For an existing Nightfall example, the durable identifiers are the title, project number, approximate sheet dimensions, signature and numbered run of 100. The publisher’s sold-out status records the primary offer; it says nothing about any particular resale example. Paper stock, proof quantities and a separate certificate remain unstated in the publisher’s record.
