Blossom Kannyu is James Jean’s signed edition of 300 for Avant Arte, listed at €350. Foil blocking and silkscreen spot gloss distinguish this print from the companion Blossom Vessel ceramics. The publisher currently marks it sold out.

The original draw’s exact opening time and the sheet dimensions are not established in this listing. The ceramic vessels are separate objects, with their own allocations; the print’s edition count does not apply to them.

Collector context

Blossom Kannyu sits inside a paired Avant Arte release rather than functioning as an isolated print. The edition uses silver foil blocking and silkscreen spot-gloss varnish, adding reflective and raised surface effects to Jean’s image. Avant Arte lists the print at €350, signed by the artist and limited to 300.

Its closest comparison is the companion Blossom Vessel sculpture. Avant Arte states that collectors buying both could access lower and matching edition numbers, so the pairing was part of the release structure rather than merely a shared title. Kannyu is the print, while Vessel is a separate ceramic sculpture; the pairing offered a way to collect the composition across two media.

A finish-led edition rather than another format of Vessel

The foil and spot gloss give the paper version a material identity of its own. Reflective details respond to the direction of light, while selective gloss separates particular areas from the surrounding printed surface. A straight-on digital image cannot fully describe that contrast. The relevant collector question is how this treatment serves the composition, not whether the print can stand in for the ceramic object.

The original paired-number offer is useful release history, but it should not be read as a continuing promise for copies acquired separately. If a seller describes a matched pair, the two edition numbers and the specific print and vessel versions need to support that description. Owning one Blossom object does not establish entitlement to the other.

The fixed print edition also distinguishes this release from a timed sale whose final quantity is set after orders close. The edition of 300 describes Kannyu; it says nothing about the ceramic allocation or subsequent demand for either medium. For an existing Jean collector, the strongest reason to study this release is the coordinated translation across paper and ceramic, with each object retaining its own production and edition boundaries.
