Pins replace the Skeleton’s printed anatomy

Those details suggest age and excavation; Nightmare’s pins and exposed red create a more abrupt interruption. This is an interpretation of the treatments, not a manufacturer statement about their meaning.

The price comparison removes an easy shortcut: Nightmare’s current announcement does not carry a higher listed price than that skull edition. Choosing it is consequently a choice of surface treatment and placement, without evidence here of an upgrade in leather grade, comfort or durability. A collector drawn to subtle texture has a different reason to favor crackling than one seeking the pronounced pin-and-red treatment.

The US opening and the remaining unknowns
