Vhils and Cristiano Ronaldo’s Knight of Najd Chapter II: how the 100-print set works

The open-edition project separates 100 designs, randomized boxes and a complete framed set; current shop offers are distinct from original issue prices.

Knight of Najd Chapter II turns a single large Vhils portrait of Cristiano Ronaldo into a collection of 100 small images. Each 20 × 20 cm print depicts a moment from Ronaldo’s career and contributes to the assembled portrait. The official Al Nassr and Vhils announcement described the mystery-box edition as available on 27 June 2026, before Ronaldo’s later July announcement brought the project to a wider audience. The primary shop now marks the release sold out.

The number 100 describes the designs within a complete set. The publisher explains that production was an open edition organised into successive sets of 100, with a new set opening after the previous set sold. It therefore should not be read as a total edition limited to 100 prints. Each print is hand-signed by Vhils and numbered. The buyer’s place in the sequence determined the set; the individual image inside an ordinary sealed box was random.

One print, several purchase configurations

The archived official shop displayed a single-print offer of €199 before shipping when checked on 8 October 2026, alongside three prints for €597 and ten for €1,990. These retained offers are not independently verified original launch prices. Those bundles changed the quantity received, while keeping the per-print price the same. They were not announced as separate colourways or alternative print processes.

The complete 100-print configuration was listed at €19,000 and came framed, with an original artwork included. The first five complete sets also included a shirt signed by Ronaldo. That offer differed materially from purchasing one or several randomized boxes: it assembled the entire visual work and included presentation and additional objects. The site does not publish an individual title for each of the 100 component designs, so the complete-set image is the clearest public guide to how the smaller prints connect.

Viewed together, the grid changes scale twice. Individual panels carry small portraits and career images, while their light and dark areas combine into Ronaldo’s larger face. A single print can be displayed independently, but its location within that overall image is part of the work’s structure. Keeping the print number, set information and original packaging together will help identify a particular example later.

Purchase and contest were separate parts of the offer

Buyers could additionally submit an answer about why Ronaldo inspires them. The publisher described a judged contest, with representatives from Vhils Studio and Al Nassr assessing responses, and advertised 150 original artworks, 100 club shirts and ten Ronaldo-signed shirts as prizes. These prize allocations did not change the number of print designs or guarantee a prize with an ordinary box.

The final shop notice says production expanded to honour the sale period and that shipping and collection would begin around mid-September. That is a stated fulfillment schedule rather than evidence that every order has shipped. For collectors comparing the two Knight of Najd chapters, February’s separately titled Legacy prints, Eclipse, Pulse and Paragon remain a different group of editions from this later modular, randomly allocated series.
