Genshin Impact DualSense: the edition’s design and its regional release dates

Sony and HoYoverse’s collaboration uses standard DualSense hardware; Asian and North American launches were separate milestones.

The Genshin Impact limited-edition DualSense is a design collaboration rather than a higher-performance controller. Its collecting distinction is the white, gold and green treatment, with references to Aether, Lumine and Paimon. Sony and HoYoverse developed the edition together, placing the game’s characters and visual language on the existing controller platform. PlayStation’s announcement establishes that identity.

One edition, different regional launch dates

The original schedule began in selected Asian markets, including Japan, on January 21, 2026. North America and other announced markets followed from February 25. These are regional milestones for one edition, not evidence of two different hardware models. A seller describing a January release may therefore be referring to a different market rather than contradicting the North American schedule.

Sony announced a US recommended price of $84.99 and December 11, 2025 preorders. Those details describe the original buying window. They do not establish today’s inventory, a current retailer price or a restock. The published schedule also allowed country-level variation; an imported example should be assessed against its own market’s packaging and sale terms.

The choice is artwork, not an Edge upgrade

PlayStation’s controller range places Genshin Impact among named limited editions alongside other game collaborations. By contrast, the separately named DualSense Edge offers remappable controls, tunable triggers and sticks, interchangeable stick caps and back buttons. The Genshin design does not turn a standard DualSense into that adjustable performance model.

That distinction matters when comparing similarly priced listings. A buyer seeking the collaboration’s appearance is choosing this edition; a buyer seeking Edge-specific adjustment should compare the separate hardware. The character theme and the controller’s functional tier answer different questions.

A themed controller still has platform limits

Sony’s device-support guide permits Bluetooth or USB connections with supported computers and mobile devices, but feature support differs. PC haptics require USB and a supporting game; Mac and mobile devices do not support that feature. Android does not support adaptive triggers, and the headset jack requires a wired connection on PC or Mac.

For someone collecting the edition to use beyond PS5, that is a consequential distinction: connecting successfully does not promise the full PS5 feature set. This report does not claim edition-specific testing or universal Genshin feature support on every platform. The design can remain the reason to choose the controller while the intended device determines which functions are available.
