FAILE Lucky Heat Wave: a cube sculpture in an edition of 14
The 2026 sculpture pairs printed wooden cubes with a steel base. Compare its composition, edition structure and sold-out publisher offer with Mad For You.
RELEASE RADAR HQFAILE’s Lucky Heat Wave translates the studio’s crowded graphic language into a small, three-dimensional reading experience. Underdogs lists the 2026 sculpture as silkscreened wooden cubes on a white steel base, signed and numbered in an edition of 14, with overall dimensions of 26 × 12 × 12 cm. Its €1,200 publisher offer was sold out when checked on 8 October 2026. That is an observed listing price and stock position, not a documented original launch price or evidence of availability elsewhere.
A composition that turns the corner
In the publisher’s representative photograph, the front-facing stack moves from large “FAST LUCK” lettering to a tiger’s head and then an enlarged eye. The adjoining face carries a suited, animal-headed figure and a vertical “HEAT WAVE” inscription. Pink, yellow, green and orange fragments interrupt the black outlines. These observations describe the pictured example rather than a promise that every numbered sculpture presents exactly the same faces.
The corner view matters because text and images cannot all be read frontally at once. A collector selecting a shelf position is choosing which combination appears first. The cube boundaries also cut across the figure on the right, making the stack a visible part of the image’s construction. Its 26 cm height is therefore only one display consideration: visibility around the work can alter the reading without any claim that the cubes themselves rotate or detach.
Two sculptures, separate numbered runs
The Something To Believe In viewing room identifies Lucky Heat Wave and Mad For You as two limited editions developed for the Lisbon exhibition. Both have fourteen numbered examples, the same listed dimensions and silkscreened cubes on white steel. Mad For You’s pictured horse, tiger and “Mad Mad” lettering establish a different composition within that shared construction. The denominator belongs to each title; the pair is not one combined edition of fourteen.
Mad For You still had selected numbered examples available at the same €1,200 asking price at the October check. Equal prices and specifications do not make their stock interchangeable. Someone seeking the pictured Lucky Heat Wave arrangement should request that title and photographs of the actual numbered example, rather than assuming an available companion is the same design.
The studio’s 2025 Summer Block Party offers another useful comparison: eight two-inch blocks in a boxed edition of 125, with hand-painting and printed surfaces that the studio describes rotating and recombining. Lucky Heat Wave instead has a documented steel base and a vertically stacked presentation. Treating both as generic “FAILE blocks” would lose the difference between a handled set and this sculptural format.
The public product specification does not establish weight, mounting requirements or an original sales-opening time. Keep the work’s title, numbered identity, material description and seller documentation together; the exhibition’s 29 May–27 June 2026 run does not by itself date the sculpture’s first sale.
