RELEASE RADAR HQShepard Fairey’s festival print released October 1, 2026 at 10 a.m. PDT for US $70. OBEY announced two channels: its store and the festival store. Current stock in those channels is unconfirmed.
The signed and numbered screenprint is an edition of 500, 18 × 24 inches on cream 80 lb Speckletone paper. It accompanied the October 3 Power to the People Festival. The festival date is separate from the print’s sale opening.
Collector context
Power to the People brings Fairey’s roles as image-maker and DJ into the same project. He supplied the poster for Tom Morello’s October 3, 2026 festival at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland, and was also billed for a DJ set. The edition announcement presents the print as part of that collaboration, giving a concert souvenir a direct connection to an artist participating in its musical program.
The festival’s announced lineup placed Joan Baez, Public Enemy and Foo Fighters on the same bill. That range matters to the poster’s identity: the event crossed musical generations and genres around a common civic purpose. Morello’s program combined collaborative performances with a Freedom Village where nonprofit and community groups presented organizing, mutual-aid and participation opportunities. Fairey’s contribution therefore belongs to an event built around both music and public action. The festival’s post-event page now thanks its participants; the October date is the occasion the print commemorates.
This relationship reaches back beyond a single festival. In his 2016 Prophets of Rage account, Fairey described Morello approaching him about the project bringing together musicians from Rage Against the Machine, Public Enemy and Cypress Hill. Chuck D supplied an initial icon, and Fairey developed further imagery. That is a useful comparison for collectors following his collaborations: the connection involves musicians helping shape visual identities, as well as appearing as subjects in his work. It also gives the 2026 poster a place within an established conversation between music, graphics and political expression.
The official print photograph rewards a closer look than the headline alone. Three figures stand in front of a domed building, with a raised fist, flag and torch arranged above the crowd. Concentric circles and sharp diagonal bands direct attention toward the group. The figures read as collective participants rather than a portrait of the headliner. Below them, the dense performer list anchors the symbolic image to one particular gathering. The figures function as collective symbols.
For a collection, the strongest connection is the meeting of a documented Morello collaboration with Fairey’s recurring interest in collective action. The dated lineup makes this a specific event object; the older Prophets of Rage project supplies a productive companion for looking at how that partnership developed. Together, they invite attention to what music posters do beyond advertising a show: organize faces, words and symbols into a public identity.
