D*Face Royal Fail: the separately numbered Punk Press Queen
The separate edition of 200 is sold out in the artist’s store at £150.
RELEASE RADAR HQRoyal Fail is the Queen subject in D*Face’s first Punk Press pair, alongside Monarchy Mash-Up. Its artist-store page is sold out at a listed £150 when checked on 6 October 2026. The print is a three-colour, hand-pulled silkscreen on grey, matt 240 gsm Olin Colours paper, measuring 84.10×59.40 cm. Artist listing.
Royal Fail has its own edition of 200. It is not a colour variant drawn from Monarchy Mash-Up’s allocation: the studio gives each subject a separate product page and permits a maximum of one of each per customer. Both are described as individually numbered and blind stamped; neither inspected page states that the print is hand signed.
The original delivery terms say the prints ship rolled in tissue inside a 3 mm poster tube, with separate shipping fees and no local collection. The planned dispatch wording is “before the end of October,” without a year in that paragraph. The Monarchy Mash-Up listing carries the shared production and delivery terms. No matched-number pairing is promised.
Authentication also separates this format from Heartbreak Highway, whose publisher explicitly describes signed and numbered sheets. Royal Fail’s blind-stamp-and-number wording supplies the appropriate baseline for identifying an impression; a missing autograph is not, by itself, a discrepancy from this release’s announced specification.
The lighter-paper format has its own specification
Heartbreak Highway also provides a material comparison: its 29-colour screenprint uses 370 gsm Lambeth paper at 70×100 cm. Royal Fail uses three colours on 240 gsm Olin at 84.10×59.40 cm. The studio describes Punk Press as a simpler, lighter-paper approach, and these specifications show what changed. Its authentication wording is only one part of that difference. The heavier gallery paper and larger Heartbreak Highway dimensions must not migrate into a Royal Fail record merely because both are numbered D*Face screenprints.
The Big Issue Punk & Disorderly edition is closer in production: three colours on 240 gsm Olin, 84×59 cm, at a listed £150. Yet it numbers 35 and belongs to GrowUp’s Paste, Present, Future project with UNCLE. Its stated 25% payment to Big Issue is a term of that project, not a charitable share announced for Royal Fail. Comparable paper and price therefore do not establish common edition membership or the same sale purpose.
