Remember Hind Rajab: Fairey’s WILLA memorial edition
Released through WILLA on January 29, 2026, the signed screenprint connects a named child’s portrait, a film and a Palestine Red Crescent Society benefit. The edition of 100 was originally US$200.
RELEASE RADAR HQShepard Fairey’s Remember Hind Rajab was released through WILLA on January 29, 2026. The OBEY archive records a 24 × 18-inch screenprint, an edition of 100 and an original US$200 price. Its defining context is the memorial: the announcement connects the signed prints to The Voice of Hind Rajab and says proceeds would go to the Palestine Red Crescent Society. OBEY lists it as sold out; current stock at WILLA has not been confirmed.
A name takes precedence over a slogan
The portrait gives Hind’s name almost the full width of the sheet. A flower crown frames her face; pink clothing, dark hair and a butterfly occupy the lower image. The butterfly’s wings contain peace symbols. Those details concentrate the picture on childhood and personhood. The eye moves between a particular face and the instruction to remember, rather than being asked to decode an anonymous emblem.
That distinction becomes sharper beside Fairey’s Miss America’s Favorite Son, also dated January 29. There, a woman holding a rifle serves an argument about American gun culture. Here, the named child is herself the subject of remembrance. For a collector assembling Fairey’s political portraits, the two works demonstrate different uses of the format: allegory diagnoses a social attachment; memorial portraiture insists on the individual who might otherwise disappear into a general argument.
The film connection explains the seller
WILLA’s film page identifies Kaouther Ben Hania as director and describes Red Crescent volunteers responding to Hind’s emergency call on January 29, 2024. The print’s release therefore coincides with the second anniversary of the event at the centre of that account. WILLA’s role puts the edition in a film-related context as well as Fairey’s print catalogue; it is a meaningful part of the work’s original distribution history.
The beneficiary reinforces that connection. The organisation named in the print announcement is also the organisation whose volunteers feature in WILLA’s synopsis. In that respect, the fundraising destination is closely connected to the story being remembered. The announcement does not quantify the donated share, so the US$200 selling price cannot be converted into a claimed per-print donation.
An edition of 100 with a narrower specification
Remember Hind Rajab and Miss America’s Favorite Son share the documented 24 × 18-inch format, but the latter was a US$65 numbered edition of 550. The WILLA release’s smaller run and higher original price establish a different offer, without establishing stronger demand or future value. A collector comparing the two should retain the seller and original edition statement alongside the shared sheet size.
There is also a practical documentation difference. Miss America’s Favorite Son explicitly specifies cream Speckletone paper, Fairey’s signature, numbering and a Verisart certificate. The Hind announcement promises signed prints but does not establish the paper, numbering or certificate arrangements. Those details should be checked against an individual WILLA purchase record or the impression itself, rather than copied across from the adjacent OBEY release. For this edition, that restraint preserves the distinction between what was announced and what a later seller may claim.
