SNIK OVERCOME Gold: metallic ink, edition of seventeen
The Gold OVERCOME screenprint is a metallic-ink edition of seventeen, separate from white-gold-leaf prints and the smaller 2023 originals.
RELEASE RADAR HQSNIK’s Gold edition of OVERCOME is one of four screenprint versions published by Bio Editions in 2025. It is an edition of seventeen, made as a hand-pulled single-layer screenprint on 330gsm Plike with a silkscreen-varnish layer. The sheet measures 102 by 72 centimetres, and the publisher lists £295 before applicable UK VAT and shipping. SNIK announced the group for 27 February 2025 at 5 p.m. Greenwich Mean Time and credited production to Goldmark Atelier. Gold product record; artist release notice.
“Gold” here identifies a metallic-ink edition. It must not be conflated with the family’s Antique Gold with White Gold Leaf version, which adds actual leaf and has a separate edition of fourteen. Silver numbers twenty-five and Bronze twenty-two; those three metallic-ink versions share the £295 advertised price, while the leaf version is listed at £395. Because all four are the same stated size, colour and finish carry the identification work. A description that treats “gold print” and “gold-leaf print” as equivalent loses the material difference the artist and publisher explicitly announced. Antique Gold/White Gold Leaf.
There is an earlier OVERCOME release with a different physical identity. In August 2023, SNIK offered originals on paper derived from the Stavanger mural: a colour edition of twelve and a gold-leaf edition of six, both 99 by 66 centimetres. The later Bio Editions print is larger and uses a specified single-layer screenprinting process. The repeated title records image lineage, but it does not make the 2025 Gold print a restock of either 2023 original. Keep those objects in separate catalogue entries when comparing photographs, dimensions or certificates.
That change also sets OVERCOME apart from Bio Editions’ first SNIK print, RETROGRADE, released in 2023. RETROGRADE translated an eight-layer canvas into a thirteen-layer screenprint and offered hand-finished, gold-leaf, triple-leaf, fluorescent and white editions. OVERCOME’s stated single-layer construction takes a different production route. Screen-layer count is a useful specification for understanding the release; it is not a ranking of artistic merit or a substitute for examining the finished work.
The publisher’s inspected page labels the Gold edition sold out. This is a historical primary-release record, with any later reopening requiring its own availability check. The inspected product text does not specify signature placement, an AP allocation or a certificate, so those details remain unconfirmed rather than borrowed from another SNIK edition. When evaluating an offered example, match the 2025 year, edition of seventeen, Plike support and metallic Gold treatment before comparing it with the smaller originals or the white-gold-leaf print.
