The main Make Peace edition is sold out at Graffiti Prints: £495, edition of 250, signed and numbered. The 25-color screenprint measures 70 × 70 cm on 330 gsm Somerset Satin.

The family also includes Black on Black (35; 23 colors with hand-finished gold leaf), White (15; 22 colors with hand-finished gold leaf), acrylic (10) and brass (10). The acrylic and brass works are different supports, not paper colorways. Prices and availability must be checked per version; the main-edition offer does not establish theirs.

Collector context

Make Peace turns the act of exposing color into the subject of the picture. A figure works at a fractured peace symbol, revealing graffiti through a gray surface. Read visually, the symbol is something being uncovered or made, rather than simply placed on a wall. That construction connects the 2025 print with Martin Whatson’s broader use of damaged surfaces as openings onto color.

The wall as part of the image

A useful comparison is Behind the Curtain, Whatson’s 2024 work at STRAAT Museum. The museum describes graffiti revealed behind a peeling gray wall. Make Peace uses a recognizable sign to organize a similar contrast: broken edges around the symbol make the gray field feel like a layer over the marks. It helps explain why the surrounding gray and the small figure matter as much as the bright central emblem.

One image, several kinds of finish

The main edition presents that composition as a 25-color screen print. Its closest paper relatives change the way the surface is finished. Black on Black combines a 23-color print with gold leaf and the artist’s hand finishing; White uses 22 printed colors, gold leaf and hand finishing. All three share the square Somerset-paper format, so sheet size alone is a poor guide to which version is being offered. The main edition’s 250-copy designation separates it from the 35 Black on Black and 15 White copies.

Those differences make color count a production description, rather than a ranking. The versions with fewer printed colors add gold leaf and work by hand. They represent a different treatment of the image, not simply a reduced version of the main print.

When the support creates actual depth

The acrylic edition takes the image’s illusion of an opening into the construction of the object. GraffitiPrints describes the graffiti as reverse-printed on the back of a 4 mm acrylic sheet, giving the crack physical depth. The brass edition instead uses a corroded metal surface and hand finishing. Both belong to separate editions of ten.

For a collector comparing Make Peace examples, the useful sequence is therefore support, finish, then edition designation. Paper, transparent acrylic and corroded brass carry the same visual idea differently; a shared title and square dimensions do not make them interchangeable. The main paper edition is the fully printed reference point within this group, with a signature and publisher-supplied certificate. Its place in the Whatson catalog rests on that specific combination of image and production.
