Zelda 40th Anniversary Pro Controller: controller or display package?

Nintendo’s Switch 2 controller arrives October 29, 2026, listed at $99.99 alone or $109.99 with a Hyrule-map display stand.

Nintendo offers two packages for the Zelda 40th Anniversary Switch 2 Pro Controller, and the difference is tangible: the $109.99 version adds a custom display stand. The controller-only US listing carries SKU 127074 and a $99.99 price, while the stand package is SKU 127076. Both are dated October 29, 2026. These listed prices do not establish that orders are currently being accepted.

The stand bears a map of Hyrule, giving the themed controller a purpose-built place when it is not being used. Against the controller-only package, the extra $10 buys presentation rather than an announced improvement to the controls. That is a useful distinction for a collector: someone planning a display may value the complete package, while someone principally buying a pad to play with can assess the controller’s design independently.

The two offers should not be mistaken for two controller generations. Nintendo describes the same anniversary design across them. Its anniversary announcement also limits the stand package’s US channels to Nintendo Store, Nintendo NEW YORK and Nintendo SAN FRANCISCO. The broader visibility of the controller-only edition at retailers does not prove that the stand is included there.

The hardware generation is important in its own right. Nintendo’s controller FAQ says the Switch 2 Pro Controller cannot be used with the original Switch. Compared with the first-generation Pro Controller, it adds the C button, assignable GL/GR buttons and a headphone/headset audio jack. Buying it for a Switch Lite or older OLED system because the Zelda artwork matches that system would therefore produce the wrong playing setup.

For a historical design comparison, Nintendo’s Tears of the Kingdom controller announcement belongs to the earlier Switch generation and was tied to that specific game. The anniversary version marks the wider Zelda series on newer hardware. They can complement each other in a collection, but they solve different ownership needs; a shared franchise name is not a compatibility specification.

The C button is also a shortcut to a service, not an included service subscription. Nintendo’s GameChat guide now requires an online membership and persistent internet. The previous free-access period does not extend simply because this controller launches later. Consider the edition as three choices made together: the artwork you want, a controller compatible with your system, and whether the matching stand is worth keeping as part of the package. No numbered production total or future resale premium is established by these official listings.
