CODA currently lists Tyler Stout’s Return to the 36 Chambers screen print at $95 and in stock, checked October 6, 2026. The 30 × 24 inch horizontal print is hand numbered, with a regular edition of 250. Lady Lazarus printed the edition.

The current offer should be separated from the original release record. CODA launched the regular online on August 2, 2024 at 10 a.m. Pacific for $65. A metallic-gold SDCC variant was limited to 36, priced at $200 and allocated through an in-person badge-scan lottery. The variant’s scarcity and access method do not apply to the regular edition.

Collector context

The image reworks the identification-card motif from Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s Return to the 36 Chambers: The Dirty Version. Stout keeps the horizontal proportions and bureaucratic-card structure while translating the portrait, seals, handwriting and background pattern into a screen-printed composition. It is a different kind of collage from his large film posters: the density comes from document graphics, repetition and lettering rather than a vertical cast montage.

That structure makes alignment and lettering important identification cues. A listing should show the full border, central portrait, lower signature field and the repeated seal pattern. Cropped photographs can hide the edge and number while making the work look like an album-cover reproduction rather than the 30 × 24 inch print CODA describes.

The metallic-gold convention version should be identified by both finish and edition of 36. A gold-looking photograph is not enough; warm lighting can shift the regular’s yellow areas. Check the edition number and compare the sheet under neutral light. The two editions also began with different prices and access mechanics.

Original price versus current channel price

CODA’s original announcement listed the regular at $65. The current product page lists $95. That is a publisher-channel price change, not a secondary-market sale and not evidence that every copy is now worth $95. Keeping both figures answers two different questions: what the edition cost at launch, and what the verified direct channel asks now.

Before ordering, verify that the selected version is the regular edition and review the current product page for stock and shipping. For a later private purchase, request provenance to CODA or the artist allocation, plus photographs of the complete sheet, number and any signature or AP notation.

Condition points

The broad cream field can reveal handling marks, while the dark blue and yellow printed areas can show scuffs or uneven abrasion under side light. Check corners and the long horizontal edges for compression from tube storage. If framed, ask whether the sheet is floated or covered at the edges and whether any hinge touches the image or margin.
