Destination: Vhils’s hand-finished Petra silkscreen
The hand-finished silkscreen from Vhils’s Petra trip, distinct from the companion Purpose risograph.
RELEASE RADAR HQDestination is the silkscreen edition from Vhils’s Jaunt #093 project in Petra, Jordan. The publisher’s current page lists it at €650 and offers an add-to-cart control, checked on 6 October 2026. It specifies an approximate 50 × 70 cm sheet, Keaykolour Original China White 300 gsm paper, bleach-and-acid hand-finishing, and a signed, numbered edition of 300 plus 30 APs. The documented journey took place from 10 to 14 October 2022; those are travel dates, not a verified sales window. Destination.
Two works came from Petra
The Jaunt also published Purpose as a separate risograph on black 170gsm paper, approximately 30 × 42 cm, hand-finished with bleach. Its edition of 250 plus 25 APs was marked sold out at a listed €200. These are two named works and two printing processes, not one print with interchangeable stock descriptions. A collector following the project should keep both entries together for context while preserving their different dimensions, medium and edition allocation. Purpose.
Vhils’s statement on the publisher’s pages places the people of Petra, particularly the Bedouin community he encountered, at the centre of the project rather than presenting it as a souvenir of the monument alone. That is an attributed account of the artist’s experience, not a claim that the edition documents every person or location shown in the travel diary. The two works emerged from the same trip, which makes their differing production methods a meaningful comparison.
Hand-finishing within a numbered run
Destination’s bleach and acid are expressly part of the publisher’s specification. They connect it to Vhils editions such as Drip, the 2022 Underdogs screenprint on the same stated weight and paper family. Drip’s regular run is 210 plus 20 APs, and its publisher explicitly describes unique results from acid burning. That comparison explains why a printing process and edition denominator do not, on their own, promise identical surface appearance across examples. Destination’s source names bleach and acid but does not state that every example is unique; Drip’s stronger variation claim remains specific to Drip. Drip.
Purpose’s black stock and smaller sheet distinguish it from Destination’s China White paper before the different images and print processes are considered. Both carry hand-finishing, so that label alone does not identify which Jaunt #093 edition is offered. For a numbered example, the work title, approximate sheet size and regular-versus-AP designation complete the publisher attribution.
Current availability is specific to The Jaunt’s page and does not establish the condition or availability of any resale example. An exact release date, a certificate specification and a shipping timetable were not established in the inspected product text. The useful next step for a buyer is the publisher’s current offer and fulfillment terms, rather than an inferred deadline from the 2022 itinerary.
