Swoon Edline and Shadow Puppet: the signed $725 round edition

The 2024 studio screenprint is signed, round and limited to ten, unlike Heliotrope’s unsigned 2020 rectangular pigment edition of 250.

Edline and Shadow Puppet is Swoon’s 2024 round silkscreen edition, offered by the studio at US $725 with Add to Cart on 6 October 2026. It uses 13 colours on archival Coventry Rag and measures 17.5×17.5 in, in a signed edition of 10. The sitter holds a shadow puppet from an after-school performance associated with Konbit Shelter’s work in Cormiers, Haiti. The studio traces that community project to the response to Haiti’s 2010 earthquake. Studio source.

The portrait has more than one edition history

Heliotrope’s 2020 Edline print is an unsigned archival pigment edition of 250, on 210 gsm Hahnemühle 50% rag watercolor paper, with a 13×19 in sheet. It is hand numbered and embossed with the foundation’s logo. The recurring sitter and shadow-puppet narrative link the works, but the 2024 studio circle has a different process, support, format and edition structure. It should not be catalogued as a signed copy from Heliotrope’s 250. Heliotrope edition.

The signature difference is particularly useful. A legitimate unsigned Heliotrope impression is not incomplete merely because the later round studio edition is signed. Conversely, the foundation’s documented numbering and emboss should not be assumed to describe the studio circle. Each edition’s own primary specification establishes the marks to expect, and a collector should record those claims separately.

Shape and support are practical distinctions

The studio describes this work as round. That distinguishes it from the rectangular 13×19 in Heliotrope sheet even before considering printing process. A seventeen-and-a-half-inch round sheet requires a different presentation from a thirteen-by-nineteen-inch rectangle; the circle is part of the physical print, rather than simply a crop of its online photograph. The listing does not include a frame or a prescribed mounting method, so neither should be added to an offer description without further evidence.

Another studio offer is the 2024 Subway Windows pigment print measuring 8.5×11 in in an edition of 45. Swoon’s studio uses different printmaking routes for different works rather than one uniform “studio edition” format. The 13-colour screenprint here and the archival pigment process there are specific production choices. Neither edition size nor colour count alone establishes a hierarchy of value. Subway Windows.

The studio’s account gives the image a concrete connection to collaborative community work, but the current product page does not state that a particular percentage of this 2024 sale is donated. That should remain distinct from Heliotrope’s fundraising programme. The shared image history therefore connects two editions without merging their sale purpose: Heliotrope explicitly describes support for the children’s programme, while the studio offers the later signed screenprint without that transaction-specific promise.
