adidas lists five Song for the Mute footwear styles for its US October 16 release, with both the SAMBA OG SFTM and SL 72 PRO SFTM priced at $130. The most useful distinction is how the two shapes handle the collaboration’s worn-in aesthetic: the Samba relaxes its heel structure, while the SL72 Pro combines a textile-and-suede upper with an aged Lightstrike midsole. Those are different design propositions at the same listed US price, rather than evidence that one is a technical upgrade over the other.

What changes on the Black Samba

Song for the Mute identifies the Black Samba as HQ7600 and SFTM-010. Its exact product description specifies an elasticated collar that gently collapses around the heel, contrasting Three Stripes and a dry-brushed sole. The expanded product details list an aniline-leather main upper and rubber sole. That combination gives the apparent aging two separate roles: the surface treatment introduces a weathered finish, while the collar changes the structure around the back of the foot.

Compare that with the Chalk SL72 Pro, HQ7605. Song for the Mute describes nylon, scuffed overlays, suede details, dual laces and a drawcord, above an aged Lightstrike midsole. Its composition is listed as 53.7% textile and 46.3% suede. Here, the layered upper and visibly treated midsole carry the design story. A collector choosing between these two can therefore compare an aniline-leather Samba with a deliberately mixed-material runner; color alone does not explain the difference. Neither description establishes comfort, longevity or performance under wear.

The five US styles

The US release selection comprises three Sambas: HQ7600 in Core Black/Cream White/Gold Metallic, HP8257 in Base Green/Core Black/Gold Metallic and HP8256 in Supplier Colour/Core Black/Gold Metallic. The two SL72 Pro styles are HQ7605 in Cream White/Core White/Off White and HQ7603 in Wild Teal/Core White/Easy Yellow. The official color names preserve each exact identity; the material information above applies specifically to Black and Chalk, rather than being extended to every sibling.

The label’s own footwear selection contains six styles, adding the Cumin SL72 Pro to those five US entries. Its exact Cumin product page identifies HQ7604, lists AUD220 and restricts the colorway to Song for the Mute’s flagship store and website. The expanded details specify 53.7% textile and 46.3% suede with a rubber sole. Consequently, the US selection and the label-exclusive color are different access routes, even within the same footwear family. Cumin’s product page does not expose its original launch day; the October 16 US date should not be assigned to it. The label’s AUD220 offers remain separate from adidas’s USD130 US listings.

For the US milestone, use the adidas release calendar and each matching product page. October 16 is confirmed, but the inspected clock wording does not establish a timezone, so a converted launch time is not available. The inspected product details do not specify production quantities or a numbered edition limit.
